What's New Spring and Summer 2006

Article on Irish Fiddling

I was asked by Stacy Phillips, gentleman and fiddle guru of Mel Bay Publishing, to write a little something for their "Webzine" called Fiddle Sessions. In all the years of running this wesbite, the questions I got most often were on how to begin. So I wrote a something that is now a three-part article on getting started in Irish Fiddling. Check it out:

Tips and Techniques for Irish Fiddling PART I

Tips and Techniques for Irish Fiddling PART II

It's very basic and aimed at those new to Irish fiddling. If you like it, be sure to let them know!

medicine for the soul
Irish Music Magazine

The musical communication between John McSherry and O'Connor...borders on clairvoyance."

This from Songlines Magazine is my favorite:

That would be a sight to see!

Seamus O'Dowd; fiddler, guitarist, singer and more, has been heard playing in a trio with singer Mary McPartlan and pianist Eddie Lynch. Besides the buzz about this great singer, there's alot of buzz about Seamus mixing trad fiddle tunes with Eddie Lynch's jazz styled piano accompaniment.
