Musical Arrangements

After years of reviewing other people's musical compositions and arrangements, I decided to try it myself. (yes, there were rejections, but I tried again) In 2005, I was published as a co-arranger with a friend, adding a violin line to a choral arrangement for female voices. In 2007, I had my first string orchestra arrangement published. I was happy, and it did fairly well. In 2008, I had four string orchestra arrangements published; three from the Belwin division of Alfred Publishing, and one through Wingert-Jones Music Publishing. Those four did even better than the one in 2007, which led to seven arrangements for 2009! It's fun.

Five New Releases for 2010

This year's releases include four pieces in the Belwin String Orchestra catalog, and one in the Wingert-Jone's catalog. The pieces range from an easy arrangement of Beethoven, to a High School level version of another great Handel Concerto Grosso movement. And somewhere in between in the easy - medium easy levels is an original/parody type work fusing Bizet's Habanera from Carmen, with classic Hanukkah melodies, A Trio-Sonata arrangement from Henry Purcell, and George Gershwin's "Someone To Watch Over Me."

Seven New Releases in 2009

This year I was allowed to work on some famous Alfred Copyrights (formerly Warner Brothers). So I chose George Gershwin and Led Zeppelin - that will keep them guessing, eh?!
Still to come:
Some of the covers aren't printed yet, and I plan to write descriptions of the music and how it came about, and why I think it is good for students and teachers. And, of course, where to buy it, if you happen teach orchestra!
