West Clare Fiddle

The picture on the CD cover is quite symbolic. The baby in the carriage is Kevin Crehan, the shadow is that of Clare fiddle legend, Junior Crehan, his grandfather. Kevin Crehan and his father had long planned to make a recording of Junior, but it never came to pass and, as one reviewer said, this is as close as anything will ever come to a recording of Junior's playing. Kevin plays these tunes as his grandfather showed him, even pairing certain tunes together as Junior would.

This recording is truly a labor of love and has preserved a very special sound from a special place.
