John Brennan and John McGillian are two Philadelphia musicians whose recording: "As Long as You're Enjoying Yourself" is being very well-received by the Irish traditional music world. On this recording, John Brennan plays guitar and John McGillian plays accordian. John Brennan is also an exceptional fiddler who learned from master sligo fiddler player: John Vesey. as soon as I get a recording of him on fiddle, it will be here.

John Brennan " I was immediately knocked out by John's adventurous playing style... It was exciting, it was pasionate, and it was real! I have since come to admire not only John Brennan the musician but John Brennan the person, and I count him among my dearest friends. John's singular committment to Irish music is an example to us all. Long may you play, John!" Myron Bretholz, from the liner notes.

John McGillian John was born in Philadelphia in 1974. His first musical influences were his parents, Mary Boyce from Milford, Co. Donegal, and Kevin McGillian, from Legfor Drum, Co. Tyrone, who started John on a button key accordian at the age of six. John plays the accordian with a spirit and lift whcih belie his age, and he clearly has what fellow musicians call, "big ears"- that is, he can hear the nuances of a tune, learn tunes quickly, and play them with a panache of originality which nevertheless adheres to the traditional roots of the music.
